Motor voltage

A
%
Description

This tool calculates the operating voltage of an electric motor based on current, active power, and power factor.

Input motor parameters to automatically calculate:

  • Operating voltage (V)
  • Supports single-, two-, and three-phase systems
  • Real-time bidirectional calculation
  • Voltage validation

Key Formulas

Voltage Calculation:
Single-phase: V = P / (I × PF)
Two-phase: V = P / (√2 × I × PF)
Three-phase: V = P / (√3 × I × PF)

Where:
P: Active power (kW)
I: Current (A)
PF: Power factor (cos φ)

Example Calculations

Example 1:
Three-phase motor, I=10A, P=5.5kW, PF=0.85 →
V = 5.5 / (√3 × 10 × 0.85) ≈ 373.6 V

Example 2:
Single-phase motor, I=5A, P=0.92kW, PF=0.8 →
V = 0.92 / (5 × 0.8) = 230 V

Important Notes

  • Input data must be accurate
  • Voltage cannot be negative
  • Use high-precision instruments
  • Voltage varies with load
