Field: Power switch
China

  1. The tripping of all circuit breakers (CBs) by protective relays is unrestricted.

  2. The opening command for all circuit breakers, except for the busbar coupler circuit breaker, is unrestricted.

  3. An opening command cannot be issued for the busbar coupler circuit breaker under the following circumstances:

    1. Both busbar disconnect switches (DSs) of any feeder are closed.

    2. Any busbar disconnect switch or sectionalizing disconnect switch is in the transition state.

  4. A closing command cannot be given for a circuit breaker when its associated line disconnect switch or busbar disconnect switch is in the transition state.

  5. A line disconnect switch can only be operated when its associated circuit breaker and feeder earthing switch (ES) are open.

  6. A feeder earthing switch can only be operated when its associated line disconnect switch (if applicable) and busbar disconnect switch are open.

  7. A busbar disconnect switch can be operated when its circuit breaker, busbar earthing switch, feeder earthing switch, and the other busbar disconnect switch are all open (except for item 8).

  8. If a busbar disconnect switch is closed, the second busbar disconnect switch can only be operated when the relevant busbar sections are connected through the busbar coupler circuit breaker.

  9. A busbar earthing switch can only be operated when the busbar disconnect switches and the busbar sectionalizing disconnect switch on the associated busbar are open.

  10. A busbar sectionalizing disconnect switch can only be operated when all the busbar disconnect switches and the busbar earthing switch on the same side of this sectionalizing disconnect switch are open.

Busbar-Side Grounding for 24kV Eco-Friendly RMUs: Why & How
Busbar-Side Grounding for 24kV Eco-Friendly RMUs: Why & How
Solid insulation assistance combined with dry air insulation is a development direction for 24 kV ring main units. By balancing insulation performance and compactness, the use of solid auxiliary insulation allows passing insulation tests without significantly increasing phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground dimensions. Encapsulation of the pole can address the insulation of the vacuum interrupter and its connected conductors. For the 24 kV outgoing busbar, with the phase spacing maintained at 110 mm,

How Vacuum Tech Replaces SF6 in Modern Ring Main Units
How Vacuum Tech Replaces SF6 in Modern Ring Main Units
Ring main units (RMUs) are used in secondary power distribution, directly connecting to end-users such as residential communities, construction sites, commercial buildings, highways, etc.In a residential substation, the RMU introduces 12 kV medium voltage, which is then stepped down to 380 V low voltage through transformers. The low-voltage switchgear distributes electrical energy to various user units. For a 1250 kVA distribution transformer in a residential community, the medium-voltage ring m

What Is THD? How It Affects Power Quality & Equipment
In the field of electrical engineering, the stability and reliability of power systems are of paramount importance. With the advancement of power electronics technology, the widespread use of nonlinear loads has led to an increasingly serious problem of harmonic distortion in power systems.Definition of THDTotal Harmonic Distortion (THD) is defined as the ratio of the root mean square (RMS) value of all harmonic components to the RMS value of the fundamental component in a periodic signal. It is
