What is a  Berry Type Transformer?

Berry Type Transformer Definition

A berry type transformer is defined as a transformer with a core resembling the spokes of a wheel, known for its distributed magnetic circuit.

Core Design

The core has multiple magnetic flux paths, creating more leakage flux and reducing efficiency compared to core and shell-type transformers.

Cooling Mechanism

The transformer’s coils are kept cool by circulating transformer oil inside a tightly fitted metal tank, which also provides additional insulation.

Usage

Berry type transformers are mainly used for high-capacity applications due to their efficient heat distribution and unique core design.
