Chance Type BPRS Station Class Regulator Bypass Switch provides a safe and economical means to bypass voltage regulators. The BPRS is designed for use on station class voltage regulators that can be set on neutral. The BPRS is single pull, sequenced so there is no chance of operator error and uses the same interrupter used on our AR Switches to interrupt the excitation current without an external arc. It is unidirectional and so must always be installed in a single source/load configuration. The BPRS uses ESP Enhanced Silicone Polymer as the primary insulating material. It has current ratings of 600A and 1200A and can be offered at 15kV 150kV, 29/38kV 200kV BIL. The BPRS achieves this station class insulation levels by using a TR rated 3" BC porcelain insulator to provide the additional leakage to ground. The base is the same as on our M3S disconnects and is perfect for direct mounting to steel structures. Chance: The Brand and Quality You Can Trust!!

Designed for Applications
By design, the BPR Regulator Bypass switch allows undisturbed continuity of service and provides an economic means for bypassing and disconnecting a distribution or substation voltage regulator for maintenance. It is designed for use with all voltage regulators that can be set on neutral for the switching operation. This includes all single and three phase regulators except three-phase induction regulators.
The BPR Switch is automatically sequenced to bypass the voltage regulator with a single pull operation, without interrupting service to the system. That is, the voltage regulator is always bypassed in proper sequence without any specific operation actions by the operator.
