Description:

The RCW   series automatic circuit reclosers can use on overhead distribution lines as well as distribution substation applications for allvoltage classes 11kV up to 38kV at 50/60Hz power system.  and it’s rated current can reach 1250A.The RCW   series automatic circuit reclosers integrates the functions of control, protection, measurement, communication, fault detection, on-line monitoring of closing or opening.The RCW   series vacuum recloser is mainly combined with integration terminal, current transformer, permanent magnetic actuator and it’srecloser controller.

What is the role of a recloser in a power system?

Fault Detection and Isolation:

  • When a short circuit, overload, or other transient fault occurs in the power line, the recloser can quickly detect the fault current and immediately interrupt it, isolating the faulty section from the power system to prevent the fault from spreading and protect the safety of the power system.

Automatic Reclosing:

  • After the fault is cleared, the recloser will automatically perform a reclosing operation after a preset time interval to attempt to restore power. If the fault is transient (such as a branch touching the line or a small animal causing a short circuit), the automatic reclosing function of the recloser can quickly restore power, reducing downtime and improving the reliability and continuity of power supply.

Improving Power Supply Reliability:

  • By providing an automatic reclosing function, reclosers can significantly reduce prolonged outages caused by transient faults, thereby enhancing the overall reliability of the power system. This is particularly important for critical loads and essential users.

Reducing Maintenance Costs:

  • The automatic reclosing function of reclosers can automatically restore power in many cases, reducing the need for manual intervention, lowering maintenance costs, and reducing workload.
