FAQ
Q: What’s the difference in the circuit breaker for air-insulated vs gas-insulated?
A:
Air-insulated switchgear circuit breaker is typically removable or withdrawable. The circuit breaker is based on vacuum circuit technology. In the gas-insulated, it is fixed mounted. The function of withdraw is provided by a separate disconnecting switch. Typically, a three-position switch with connected, disconnected, and ready-to-earth position.
Q: What are the key features of ABB’s medium voltage switchgear products?
A:
ABB‘s primary medium voltage switchgear products are designed to connect and protect the evolving grid. They feature robust construction, advanced safety mechanisms, high reliability, and ease of maintenance. They are designed to handle high electrical loads and provide efficient power distribution with minimal losses.

How is the contradiction between the small grounding residual current and the neutral point displacement voltage exceeding the standard resolved?
Contradiction PointsIn automatic tracking arc suppression coils, the adjustment precision is high, the residual current is small, and the operation is close to the resonance point. In an automatic tracking arc suppression coil grounding system, two factors must be considered: Under normal operating conditions, the long-term voltage displacement of the neutral point should not exceed 15% of the system's nominal phase voltage; In the case of a ground fault, the grounding residual current should be

Analysis of Testing Methods for Turns Ratio and Connection Mode of Special Transformers
Analysis of Testing Methods for Turns Ratio and Connection Mode of Special Transformers
1 Error Analysis of Traditional Turn Ratio Testing MethodsThe QJ35 turn ratio bridge and other single-phase-phase-based testers all use the double-voltmeter principle. The QJ35, however, eliminates power supply fluctuation interference via bridge balance. For three-phase transformer ratio testing with a single power supply, corresponding terminals must be shorted and data converted, turning three-phase tests into independent single-phase measurements, with √3 Yd conversion based on connect

What are the production processes of special transformers?
What are the production processes of special transformers?
A certain special transformer manufacturing enterprise, which has been producing special transformers such as split - phase - shifting rectifier transformers, rectifier transformers for electrolysis, and transformers for submerged arc furnaces for more than 20 years. Now, an evaluation is made on the production process flow and its characteristics of the special transformers after the company's transformation.1.Production Process Flow Chart of Special TransformersThe production of special transf

Cost Differences and Performance Comparison of 35kV New Energy Transformers Based on Dry-Type, Mineral Oil, and Vegetable Oil
Cost Differences and Performance Comparison of 35kV New Energy Transformers Based on Dry-Type, Mineral Oil, and Vegetable Oil
For users, when purchasing a 35kV new energy transformer, choosing between dry-type, mineral oil-filled, or vegetable oil-filled types involves multiple considerations. These include user habits, maintenance-free performance, safety and fire resistance, volume and weight, among others. However, cost differences are undoubtedly one of the most crucial factors. To illustrate the issue intuitively, this paper selects a three-level energy efficiency dual-winding new energy transformer with a rated ca

What is the connection group of a transformer?
What is the connection group of a transformer?
Transformer Connection GroupThe connection group of a transformer refers to the phase difference between the primary and secondary voltages or currents. It is determined by the winding directions of the primary and secondary coils, the labeling of their start and end terminals, and the connection mode. Expressed in a clock-like format, there are 12 groups in total, numbered from 0 to 11.The DC method is commonly used to measure the transformer's connection group, mainly to verify whether the con
