Three Phase Circuit | Star and Delta System
There are two types of system available in electric circuit, single phase and three phase system. In single phase circuit, there will be only one phase, i.e the current will flow through only one wire and there will be one return path called neutral line to complete the circuit. So in single phase minimum amount of power can be transported. Here the generating station and load station will also be single phase. This is an old system using from previous time.In 1882, new invention has been done o

Voltage in Series Circuits
What are Voltages in Series?A series circuit or series connection refers to when two or more electrical components are linked together in a chain-like an arrangement within a circuit. In this kind of circuit, there is only a single way for charge to pass through the circuit. The potential variation in charge across two points in an electrical circuit is known as voltage. In this article, we will discuss in detail voltages in a series circuit. The battery of a circuit provides energy for the charg

Open Circuit Voltage: What is it?
What is Open Circuit Voltage? When an open circuit condition is created in any device or circuit, the difference of electric potential between the two terminals is known as the open-circuit voltage. In network analysis, the open-circuit voltage is also known as the Thevenin Voltage. The open-circuit voltage is often shortened to OCV or VOC in mathematical equations. In open-circuit conditions, the external load is disconnected from the source. An electric current will not flow through the circuit.

What is Power in AC Circuit?
AC circuits are usually three-phase for electrical distribution and electrical transmission purposes. Single phase circuits are commonly used in our domestic supply system. The total power of a three-phase AC circuit is equal to three times the single phase power. So if the power in a single phase of a three-phase system is ‘P’, then the total power of the three-phase system would by 3P (provided the three-phase system is perfectly balanced). But if the three-phase system is not exactly balanced, t

Dual Fuzzy-Sugeno Method to Enhance Power Quality Performance Using a Single-Phase Dual UPQC-Dual PV Without DC-Link Capacitor
This paper proposes a novel configuration of a dual UPQC supplied by a dual photovoltaic (PV), hereinafter referred to as 2UPQC-2PV,to improve the power quality performance of a single-phase 220 V/50 Hz distribution system. The 2UPQC-2PV configuration is proposed to anticipate the possible failure of both inverters in one of the UPQC circuits. The PV array replaces the DC-link capacitor to maintain its voltage connected to the DC-link of the UPQC constant while at the same time supplying active

SEKV-E: Parameter Extractor of Simplified EKV I-V Model for Low-Power Analog Circuits
This paper presents the open-source Python-based parameter extractor (SEKV-E) for the simplified EKV (sEKV) model, which enables the modern low-power circuit designs with the inversion coefficient design methodology. The tool extracts the essential sEKV parameters automatically from the given I - V curves using the direct extraction and the multi-stage optimization process. It also handles the overfitting issue because of non-linear least squares. Moreover, this work demonstrates t

A Stable Digital Impedance Circuit Design Method for Resistive Source Impedances
The recent discovery that the input impedance of digital impedance circuits is dependent on the external source impedance requires the development of new design procedures to address the significant complexity of this discovery. These circuits are of particular utility for the implementation of difficult non-Foster impedances such as negative capacitance. Therefore, a new digital impedance circuit design procedure is presented where stable digital filter coefficients are computed to provide desi

Circuits and Systems Issues in Power Electronics Penetrated Power Grid
The penetration of power electronics into power generation and distribution systems has deepened in recent years, as prompted by the increasing use of renewable sources, the quest for higher performance in the control of power conversion, as well as the increasing influence of economic plans that necessitate power trading among different regions or clusters of power distribution. As a result of the increased use of power electronics for controlling power flows in power systems, interactions of p

A Low-Noise High-Gain Broadband Transformer-Based Inverter-Based Transimpedance Amplifier
In this paper, a transformer-based bandwidth (BW) extension technique is employed to improve the BW, noise, and silicon area of inverter-based transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) even when they use inductive peaking. A TIA based on the proposed technique, designed and laid out in a 16-nm FinFET process, demonstrates a 36% increased in BW, a 19% reduction in input-referred noise, and a 57% reduction in silicon area compared to the conventional TIA with inductive peaking. In the proposed TIA architec
